Leaked Audio: Sindh Governor Blames PPP, PML-N for MQM-P’s Voter Decline

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori accuses the PPP and PML-N of contributing to MQM-P’s voter decline.

Tessori cites MQM-P’s support for the PDM and its association with the PTI-led government as factors causing dissatisfaction among voters. He defends MQM-P’s mandate, stating that despite initially securing seven seats in 2018, their increased seat count to 17 in the National Assembly has led to accusations of a fake mandate.

Tessori warns of risks associated with being part of a government facing public backslash.

Tessori, in the alleged audio leak likely of a party meeting, can be heard blaming the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the decline in the vote bank of the MQM-P.

“We were sitting with the PTI in the government. You [PPP, PML-N] were in opposition and were going to jail. We supported PDM due to which our voter was unhappy with us,” Tessori can be heard in the alleged audio clip.

He went on to add that the other parties were calling their mandate fake after the MQM-P secured 17 seats in the National Assembly.

“If we have secured such mandate then other parties have also got a similar mandate,” Tessori said.
