Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s authorities have swiftly restored major highway traffic, clearing obstructed roads and reconnecting vital routes following a directive from the Peshawar High Court. Officials reported that obstacles were removed from the Attock Bridge on GT Road, while links between Dera Ismail Khan and Mianwali, as well as Chashma, have reopened.

The M-14 Motorway at the CPEC Yarik Toll Plaza was also cleared. Interchanges at Havelian and Muslimabad along the Hazara Motorway were opened up. However, negotiations continue for the M-1 Motorway interchange in Ambar, Swabi, where protesters are engaged with PTI workers.

Earlier, the court had criticized prolonged road blockades, ordering immediate traffic restoration to alleviate public suffering. In response, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expressed his dissatisfaction over unjust treatment of protesters and questioned judicial handling of ongoing cases.

He highlighted that courts should investigate why people were protesting and demand legal rights for their leaders. Additionally, he questioned delays in hearings and restrictions on meetings with personal doctors.
