Olivier Giroud’s late goal for Lille secured a 2-1 victory against Marseille on Sunday. Ethan Nwaneri’s early strike had put Marseille ahead but Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier equalized before halftime. Giroud then scored his sixth goal of the season, sending Lille into a winning position in the final minutes.

Lille coach Bruno Genesio praised his team for their performance and resilience despite being behind at half-time. He emphasized that they need to stay grounded as they aim for third place in the league table.

Lyon boss Paulo Fonseca criticized several VAR decisions during the match and expressed frustration over his team’s recent poor form.

Elsewhere, Paris FC secured a crucial win over Le Havre to strengthen their chances of avoiding relegation this season. The capital side now sit on 31 points with Le Havre four behind in the 14th position.
