Insomniac Games made headlines at the June 2026 PlayStation State of Play by unveiling an extended gameplay sequence for their upcoming game. The demo showcased a darker, more violent version of the character, leaving no doubt about its tone.

Creative director Marcus Smith introduced the sequence, which begins with Logan tracking mutants captured by the Reavers, cybernetic mercenaries working for Bolivar Trask. Players hack through facilities while Logan’s claws deliver visceral damage.

The narrative centers on Team X, a mutant-protecting group facing its darkest hour without any existing X-Men. Jean Grey joins Logan mid-sequence, though her role and playability remain uncertain.

A rooftop motorcycle chase adds spectacle before the demo ends with teases of Sabretooth, new enemy factions, and suits. Gameplay mechanics include death if heart stops but can be restarted through adrenaline or rage. Players can also choose a less-violent difficulty path and disable blood in settings.

Set across Madripoor, Canadian wilderness, and Tokyo, Marvel’s Wolverine is described as a global thriller. The game will cost $69.99 for the standard edition, with the Digital Deluxe priced at $79.99, including extra suits and claw variants. Pre-order bonuses include Logan’s classic brown suit and four PlayStation avatars.
