Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed her sentiments on Ashura, emphasizing the enduring inspiration that Karbala continues to provide for humanity. She described it as a timeless lesson in sacrifice and righteousness.
In her message, CM Punjab paid tribute to the martyrs of Karbala and honored the patience and resilience of Hazrat Bibi Zainab (RA). She stated that love for the martyrs is an integral part of every Muslim’s faith.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted how the tragedy of Karbala revived the moral conscience of Islamic civilization. The sacrifice and martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson, were made to preserve true values and principles of Islam.
She emphasized that the tragedy of Karbala is a lasting inspiration for humanity to stand on the path of justice. Maryam Nawaz also noted that Imam Hussain (RA) presented an enduring model of political and moral leadership.
The chief minister reiterated that the name of Imam Hussain (RA) remains a symbol of courage and steadfastness for oppressed people worldwide. She described Karbala as more than a historical battle, representing spiritual resilience and unwavering faith.
Maryam Nawaz urged people to renew their commitment to following the teachings of Imam Hussain (RA), stating that his sacrifices would continue to inspire generations in their struggle against injustice and oppression.
