Maryam Nawaz Highlights Punjab’s Progress at University Event

In Gujrat, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz addressed a large gathering today at the University of Gujrat, where she detailed rapid development across her province and its profound impact on the future of Punjab’s youth. The speaker began with effusive praise for the vibrant state of Punjab, emphasizing the government’s commitment to empowering young minds through initiatives like laptop distribution and scholarships.

During her speech, Maryam Nawaz took a moment to critique Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), particularly its current situation marred by ongoing unrest and road blockages. She argued that these issues were not just detrimental to the province but had also inflicted significant harm on its people and economy. “We are not just developing Punjab, we are propelling it forward,” she stated, reiterating her vision for the restoration of Punjab’s splendor.

She underscored this by highlighting several initiatives including educational reforms that aim to educate young minds in a progressive manner. “The future of every child in Punjab is bright,” Maryam Nawaz emphasized, underlining efforts aimed at creating an environment conducive to progress and success.

However, her speech shifted abruptly to a pointed criticism of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where she claimed the province was descending into chaos. The turmoil, including violence and instability instilled in young people’s minds, were contributing significantly to senseless acts that endanger lives. “While Punjab is full of talented youth, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is descending into chaos,” she remarked.

Maryam Nawaz also made a critical point regarding the education system in KP where children are taught to block roads instead of being educated. She sharply condemned such behavior and contrasted it with the educational reforms being implemented in Punjab. “We did not come to power to serve ourselves, but to serve the people,” she reiterated.

In her closing remarks, Maryam Nawaz addressed allegations against her family, specifically her mother’s health condition, which had been politicized by adversaries. She defended her family, stating that political differences should never turn into personal enmity. “My mother’s illness was lied about and ridiculed. Political differences should never turn into personal enmities,” she stated.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted the ongoing issues with Imran Khan’s prison conditions in a more pointed remark: “We did not speak about removing air conditioning from the room of the PTI founder. Our focus is on the well-being of our own people, not political vendettas,” she said, referencing recent debates.

In her final remarks, Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to the people of Punjab and pledged all her resources for their service: “All my resources are at your feet. We will continue to work for your future, and we will not rest until Punjab reaches its fullest potential,” she concluded.
