Maryam Nawaz Imposes Ban on Appointments and Transfers in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has enforced a comprehensive ban on all appointments and transfers across the province.

The issuance of a notification formalizes this ban, which will be strictly enforced in both letter and spirit.

Under the directive, all appointments and transfers of government officials in Punjab will require special permission from the Chief Minister’s Office, emphasizing centralized control over personnel matters.

In her inaugural address as Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz extended an olive branch to the opposition, emphasizing openness and inclusivity in her governance approach. She underscored her commitment to democratic values and expressed optimism about the House upholding these principles under the leadership of the speaker and deputy speaker.
