Meghan Markle and Prince Harry react to royal expert claims

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally responded to a royal expert’s book that has been serialised online. According to Tom Bower, a prominent royal commentator whose work has recently been extensively published by The Daily Express, his latest book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family explores the strained relationship between himself, the couple, and the Windsor family.

In their statement issued through a representative, Meghan and Harry condemned Bower’s commentary as crossing from criticism into fixation. They noted that Bower has publicly stated, “the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,” language which they assert speaks for itself. Additionally, they criticized his career for constructing elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met.

Bower’s claims include a contentious moment during a reconciliation meeting between Harry, William, Kate Middleton, and the Duchess in 2018, when Meghan allegedly warned Prince William off her personal space, saying: “If you don’t mind, get your finger out of my face.”

The royal couple’s representative highlighted these issues, emphasizing that those seeking factual information should look elsewhere. Bower’s work is described as providing deranged conspiracy and melodrama for those interested in the more fanciful narratives surrounding their marriage.

Bower’s assertions have stirred a storm among royal watchers who debate the very existence of the monarchy itself. As they assert their stance against such theories, Meghan and Harry are left to navigate through an increasingly polarized public opinion landscape.
