Heat Wave Alert Issued for Sindh

The Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather across most districts of Sindh, including Karachi. The Heat Wave Early Warning Centre has issued a heatwave alert for central and upper parts of the province.

Central and Upper Sindh to Face Extreme Heat Until May 3

Heatwave conditions are likely to persist in central and upper parts of Sindh until May 3, according to the Meteorological Department’s Heat Wave Early Warning Centre. This will lead to daytime maximum temperatures rising 4 to 6°C above normal in several districts.

Affected Districts Include Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroz, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur

The Met Office’s alert advises the general public, especially children, women, and senior citizens, to take precautionary measures and avoid direct sunlight during daytime hours. Staying hydrated is also recommended.
