Mike White has provided an update on the fourth season of The White Lotus during his return to Survivor 50. In a conversation with TVLine, the 55-year-old American filmmaker and actor revealed that he hasn’t yet begun writing the script for Season 4. White stated, “After we play the game, I’ll start scouting for Season 4, so I don’t even know where it’s shooting.”
The three-time Emmy winner explained his decision not to return to Survivor, noting that he could not participate due to commitments related to season three of The White Lotus, which was filmed in Thailand. He said, “Weirdly, if it had happened in any other time in the last five years, I just wouldn’t have been available. But when they told me the dates, I was like, ‘I could actually do that.’”
White expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans, which he believes will be a significant event not only for those involved in the show but also for him personally. He shared, “I love my show obviously and I’m excited to go back to it, but it’s nice to think about something else, do something different, get out of my head, my little world.”
White is returning to CBS’s Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans after a gap since 2018. The new season will premiere on February 25, 2026, both on CBS and Paramount+.
