A militant attack on a government school in South Waziristan left the district reeling. Unidentified assailants targeted and demolished Government Middle School Sharif Khan Kot, located in Bermal tehsil, with explosives, leaving a trail of destruction that extended beyond the school’s walls.

In an area already fraught with tension, the blast destroyed two classrooms, bathrooms, and part of the main gate, while one side of the boundary wall crumbled. Neighboring residences were not spared either; several suffered partial damage as well.

The attack was confirmed by local police sources to have occurred on Wednesday morning, a day after militants had carried out another bombing at Government High School Azam Warsak in the region. Despite the explosive destruction and immediate concerns about public safety, there was no loss of life reported.

Local authorities remained vigilant in their efforts to assess the full extent of damage and provide aid where necessary. The community is currently grappling with a sense of vulnerability following these recent incidents.
