Explosive Device Blast Injures Three at Monaco Residence
An explosive device attack has left three people seriously injured at a residential building in Monaco. The incident occurred Monday night near the French border, with two adults and a child taken to hospitals in France.
Local authorities reported that the attacker fled to France following the explosion. Prince Albert II of Monaco condemned the act as “odious” and mobilized all security services.
French and Monaco officials are searching for the suspect, whose motive remains under investigation. Minister of State Christophe Mirmand stated that video surveillance helped identify the individual who crossed into France on foot.
One of the injured was identified by French broadcaster BFM and Ukrainian news site Ukrainska Pravda as Ukrainian construction tycoon Vadym Iermolaiev. The businessman has been targeted by Ukrainian sanctions since 2023 due to alleged ties with Russia, following Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine that year.
