Senior leaders of MQM-P Dr Farooq Sattar, addressing a press conference in Karachi after unveiling party’s shadow budget, demanded immediate abolition of petroleum levy. They also called for reduction in taxes on salaried middle class, provision of relief to small farmers and agricultural workers.
Dr Farooq Sattar highlighted that the MQM-P had prepared a people-friendly budget, noting significant decline in purchasing power of Pakistanis. He emphasized that economic sovereignty is crucial for national survival, with stagnant economy needing local investment for improvement.
The senior leader also credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for gaining international attention due to their diplomatic efforts.
