Muharram Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan, First Muharram on July 8

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Saturday that the Muharram moon was not sighted in Pakistan. Consequently, the first day of Muharram will be on July 8 (Monday).

During a press conference in Quetta, Committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stated that Ashura, which falls on the 10th of Muharram, will be observed on July 17 (Wednesday).

Azad mentioned that meetings of zonal crescent sighting committees were conducted in all provinces, but no evidence of the moon sighting was reported from any part of the country.
