Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of standing firm for truth and righteousness, drawing from the tragedy of Karbala. Speaking at a Youm-e-Ashur procession in Karachi, he highlighted that the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) inspire people to remain steadfast amidst adversity.
Shah reviewed security arrangements across Sindh, where approximately 1,300 processions and 1,600 majalis are planned for Youm-e-Ashur. Over 60,000 police officers were deployed to maintain law and order. While no specific threat was currently identified, Shah warned of potential disruptions by hostile elements.
He praised the organizers’ cooperation with authorities, noting their crucial role in ensuring a peaceful Muharram observance. The chief minister reaffirmed Sindh’s commitment to deploying all resources for mourners’ safety during religious rituals.
