NASCAR Legend Kyle Busch Passes Away at 41 After Severe Illness

Kyle Busch, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, died at age 41 on Thursday.

NASCAR and Richard Childress Racing confirmed his death after his family announced he was hospitalized with severe illness. No further details were provided.

“Deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing, and motorsports community,” NASCAR stated.

Busch won Cup Series titles in 2015 and 2019, recording 63 victories in the series. He also became the winningest driver in O’Reilly Auto Parts and Craftsman Truck Series history with 102 and 69 wins respectively.

Competing from 2005 to joining Richard Childress Racing in 2023, Busch was known for aggressive driving style and fierce competitiveness. NASCAR described him as “a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation.”
