**ISLAMABAD:** Pakistan’s President of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, conveyed heartfelt condolences to Iran on the reported martyrdom of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in US-Israel strikes. In a statement shared on social media platform X, Sharif described the tragic event as a significant and deeply sorrowful moment for Iran’s history.

Sharif stated that such an incident carries profound emotional, political, and national repercussions. He expressed his unwavering solidarity with the Iranian people during this time of grief. The PML-N president emphasized the critical importance of regional peace and stability in response to these events.

A separate development from the strikes saw Khamenei’s wife succumbing to injuries sustained in the same attacks. This dual blow, Sharif lamented, underscores the gravity of the situation for Iran.

In a post on X, Nawaz Sharif called for God’s blessings upon the Iranian people as they grapple with this unprecedented loss. He pleaded for continued efforts towards regional and global peace and stability amidst these tumultuous times.”
