NDMA Forecast: Rain, Winds, Hailstorms in KP, Punjab and Surrounding Areas March 9-12

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a comprehensive weather advisory for several parts of Pakistan from March 9 to 12. According to forecasts by the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will face heavy rainfall during this period.

Specifically, rain is expected in various districts including Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Kohat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Peshawar, Swabi, among others. In the Potohar region, particularly Islamabad and its surrounding areas, residents should expect gusty winds along with light rain within the next 12 to 24 hours.

The advisory also highlights potential hailstorms in upper areas of Islamabad and nearby Potohar districts. Throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, from March 9 to 11, districts like Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, and Buner may experience gusty winds accompanied by light rain. In contrast, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are expected to face partly cloudy weather with light precipitation.

Areas predicted to receive rainfall include Astore, Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Hattian Bala, Bagh, Haveli, and Poonch. The NDMA is coordinating closely with authorities to ensure timely alerts and preparedness measures are in place. Public advisories emphasize the importance of remaining informed about evolving weather conditions.

NDMA staff is working diligently to provide accurate updates and assistance for all regions affected by these weather events.
