King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands arrived in Philadelphia for their three-day visit to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. They were greeted by Governor Josh Shapiro and First Lady Lori Shapiro at Independence National Park.

Local media reports suggest that the royals will engage more with Philadelphians on Monday before heading to Washington, D.C., for a White House dinner. Britain’s King Charles is also set to arrive in the US later this month, as announced by House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Charles and Queen Camilla are scheduled to visit Bermuda during their trip to mark America’s independence anniversary from British rule. This high-profile visit aims to mend strained relations with Donald Trump following the Iran war.

The first state visit by a British monarch since 2007 is expected to commence on April 27, with a banquet dinner at the White House the following day.
