The New Gwadar International Airport is scheduled to begin operations on August 14. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials have confirmed that all preparations for the airport’s opening have been completed.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will oversee the soft launch of the new airport. The facility, which has cost Rs54.98 billion, is situated 26 kilometers northeast of the current Gwadar airport. It occupies 3,000 acres of land allocated by the Pakistani government and will be Pakistan’s second greenfield airport, following the new Islamabad Airport.

Currently, only four percent of the operational infrastructure remains unfinished. Other construction work is expected to be completed by December 2025.
