Nicolas Cage, the 62-year-old actor, recently admitted on The New York Times’s podcast The Interview that becoming a father at an older age has significantly changed his outlook on life.
Speaking with host David Marchese, Cage revealed he had often made impulsive decisions in his younger years, which he said could have been detrimental to both his career and personal life. He joked about past questionable purchases like cars or properties.
Despite his playful side still being alive as a performer, Cage now leads a much quieter, calmer, and more disciplined life compared to his previous reckless ways.
Living a “monastic life” is one of the reasons for this change, primarily due to raising his three-and-a-half-year-old toddler with his wife Riko Shibata. Cage emphasized that his focus is on ensuring his child has a happy and healthy life, along with focusing on work when he works.
