No Internet Slowdown Expected in Pakistan on January 15, Says PTA

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has dismissed reports suggesting that internet services across the country will face disruption or slowdown on January 15, 2026.

PTA officials stated that claims circulating on social media about nationwide connectivity issues on that date are false. They confirmed that internet services in Pakistan are stable, with no interruptions reported.

The authority further noted that major service providers, including Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Transworld, are operating normally, with no degradation observed in their networks.

This clarification follows concerns raised after an email from internet service provider Nayatel informed its customers about scheduled maintenance on one of Pakistan’s submarine cables on January 15 at 2 PM. PTA emphasized that this maintenance will not affect overall internet connectivity in the country.
