The investment will significantly increase from previous years when the company spent about 10-15 billion dollars on operations in Taiwan. A new headquarters is set to be operational by 2030, according to Huang’s statement at a launch event in Taipei.

This move aims to strengthen ties with TSMC, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, and other manufacturing partners such as Foxconn, Wistron, and Quanta Computer. These companies are key players in building AI servers and infrastructure.

Huang, born in Taiwan but now living in the US, expressed his belief that Taiwan is at the heart of the AI revolution. He plans to employ 4,000 people at the new site.

The announcement comes as Huang was part of a delegation accompanying President Trump on a trip to Beijing for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This underscores the strategic importance of Taiwan in global tech supply chains, particularly for companies like NVIDIA and Apple.
