The Foreign Office (FO) announced Thursday that the temporary halt in Operation Ghazab lil-Haq against the Afghan Taliban has ended. The operation will persist “until its objectives are achieved,” stated FO Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi during a press briefing.

Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq commenced on February 26 following cross-border firing by the Afghan Taliban. Andrabi emphasized that it is a precise, targeted military campaign against terrorist leadership and their infrastructure within the Taliban regime and controlled areas.

The temporary pause was observed in deference to Eidul Fitr celebrations and in response to requests from Islamic countries. The operation resumed on March 24, with FO stating that it will continue until the objectives are met and the Taliban reviews its support for terror infrastructures over Afghan welfare.

Attaullah Tarar had previously announced the temporary pause in Operation Ghazab lil-Haq at the request of brotherly Islamic countries. Shortly after, the Afghan Taliban also suspended their military operations against Pakistan, citing similar requests from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar.
