The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ayin-e-Pakistan (TTAP) has decided to stage a sit-in outside Parliament House starting Friday, demanding immediate access to Imran Khan and ensuring his complete medical treatment. The decision was made during a consultative meeting of senior leaders from various parties in Islamabad.

Senior figures including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Opposition Leader in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and multiple other lawmakers were present at the meeting. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman was invited by Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

The discussion centered around Imran Khan’s health condition and future plans for the opposition. Participants agreed that a sit-in would begin after Friday prayers, with party leaders leading the protest. All members of the National Assembly, provincial assemblies, senators, and party ticket holders have been directed to travel to Islamabad.

PTI leader Junaid Akbar has instructed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lawmakers to join the protests at D-Chowk. Meanwhile, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai announced on social media that a peaceful sit-in would commence outside Parliament House on Friday.

Apostulating for a resolution of their demands through dialogue, Achakzai also warned against any untoward incidents and urged lawmakers to commit to the protest. He highlighted the alleged inadequate eye care provided at Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan has been held since his arrest last year.

The opposition alliance plans to present its concerns during the sit-in and will continue until their demands are met. The group’s leadership stressed that if government officials or jail authorities prove negligent in handling Imran Khan’s case, they should be brought before Parliament for accountability.
