Over 150 dairy animals died amid heatwave past three days

Intense heat in Karachi has severely affected dairy animals. Several hundred animals in Karachi Cattle Colony died during severe heatwave.

Over the past three days, more than 150 animals have perished, confirmed Shabbir Dar, spokesperson for the Dairy Cattle FarmsA ssociation.

Despite facing significant challenges, veterinary doctors from the livestock department are absent, adding to the farmers’ difficulties. The lack of timely treatment has led to substantial losses for farmers. Additionally, the extreme heat has started to impact milk production in the city.

Shabbir Dar, the spokesperson for the Dairy Farmers Association, has urged the livestock department to ensure the care of the animals and the supply of necessary medicines to prevent further losses.
