Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar, Adviser to the Chief Minister Zeeshan Malik, and Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Aijaz conducted an inspection at Lari Adda transport terminal. The officials reviewed compliance with transport regulations, focusing on fare overcharging and unsafe travel practices.

Following the inspection, authorities initiated a large-scale enforcement operation against transport operators accused of violating rules and exploiting commuters. More than 20 transport stations were sealed on the spot for serious regulatory breaches. Six individuals were arrested for allegedly charging excess fares and engaging in other violations of transport laws.

The crackdown was triggered by repeated complaints from passengers regarding unfair pricing, unsafe boarding practices, and a lack of basic facilities at key transport hubs. Transport Minister Bilal Akbar stated that strict measures would continue against those involved in charging fares beyond approved rates. He emphasized that no compromise would be made on the quality and fairness of public transport services.

CM aide Zeeshan Malik said the government was determined to dismantle entrenched transport mafias and eliminate unchecked profiteering. The Deputy Commissioner Lahore stressed that immediate action would be taken against all violations, adding that there was no space for negligence or poor performance within the administrative framework overseeing public transport operations.
