A staggering 93% of netizens globally have condemned the joint US-Israeli military action in Iran, according to an online poll released by China Global Television Network (CGTN). The respondents saw this as a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. They called for an immediate halt to prevent any further escalation.
The strike occurred during ongoing diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Critics pointed out that 86.8% of survey participants viewed the US’s increased military presence as a form of “American hegemony,” undermining international law and straining hopes for resolving disputes through diplomacy. The poll revealed that over 79.8% of respondents believed force was not an effective means to settle international disputes, arguing it often deepens hostility and restricts negotiation space rather than addressing core issues.
This military intervention has already resulted in significant casualties. International bodies, including the United Nations, alongside leaders from various countries, have condemned these strikes and urged restraint and a return to dialogue. Nearly 90% of participants expressed concern that the fragile peace process in the Middle East could rapidly deteriorate, highlighting continued escalation as detrimental to no party’s interests.
Moreover, 94.7% of respondents were deeply concerned about America’s disregard for international law and established norms of relations. This approach risks eroding global trust in multilateral mechanisms and destabilizing strategic stability worldwide.
The survey was widely disseminated across CGTN’s platforms in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian, generating 23,464 responses within a day from around the globe.
