The Pakistan Cabinet Division has officially announced the holiday calendar for 2025, offering citizens a detailed schedule of breaks throughout the year. With 12 public holidays and 22 optional ones, the new year promises ample opportunities for festivities, reflection, and relaxation.
The first public holiday will fall on February 5 for Kashmir Solidarity Day, setting the tone for the year. Following that, March 23 will mark Pakistan Day, a time to celebrate national pride. Eid-ul-Fitr will bring a three-day respite from March 30 to April 1, allowing families to come together for joyous celebrations.
Labor Day will be observed on May 1, followed by Youm-e-Takbir on May 28, commemorating Pakistan’s nuclear achievement. June will feature three more holidays, from the 7th to the 9th, for Eid-ul-Adha. The Ashura holidays on July 5 and 6 will provide time for reflection and religious observance.
Independence Day on August 14 will bring the nation together once again, while Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in early September, based on the lunar calendar, adds a spiritual highlight. November 9 will celebrate the life and work of Allama Iqbal, the visionary poet and philosopher.
The year will conclude with a holiday on December 25 to honor Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s legacy, with a possible ‘Day After Christmas’ break on December 26.
Make sure to mark these dates on your calendar and plan your year ahead to enjoy these well-deserved breaks!
