In recent days, Pakistan’s aviation sector has grappled with persistent flight disruptions impacting routes to the Middle East. The latest developments highlight a complex interplay of security concerns and geopolitical tensions, resulting in significant cancellations.
Flights from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad have been hit particularly hard. As of today, 26 flights originating from Karachi to destinations like Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi have already been cancelled. Additionally, ten more flights are set to depart as planned. In Lahore, eighteen scheduled trips to Middle Eastern countries are grounded. Similarly, in Islamabad, twenty-two commercial flights were also indefinitely suspended.
Pakistan’s aviation authorities report a staggering total of approximately 1,600 flight cancellations over the past eleven days, with ongoing disruptions affecting numerous routes. Authorities emphasize the importance of staying informed by contacting their respective airlines for the latest updates and travel options.
