Pakistan will not become part of the Abraham Accord following its decision to join the Board of Peace, the Foreign Office stated on Thursday. During a weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi also emphasized Pakistan’s opposition to foreign interference in Iran’s internal affairs or the imposition of sanctions.

Islamabad believes that peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through diplomacy and dialogue, the spokesperson added.

The official clarified that Pakistan has made no decision to join the International Stabilisation Force for Gaza. Instead, the Board of Peace is a message of hope for the Palestinian people, not a substitute for the United Nations.

The Foreign Office also announced that the United States has upgraded its travel advisory for Pakistan, making it easier for more people to visit the country. According to the official, this reflects Pakistan as a safe destination, marking positive international recognition.

Additionally, the spokesperson announced that the President of Kazakhstan will soon visit Pakistan, with dates yet to be determined.

The upcoming visit is seen as significant for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Addressing regional tensions, the spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan has always supported the resolution of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy. He stressed that Pakistan opposes the use of force and has consistently rejected sanctions against Iran.

The official noted that both the prime minister and foreign minister have held two rounds of direct contact with their Iranian counterparts. Meetings were also conducted with US officials in Davos to discuss the overall regional situation.

The spokesperson stated that the region cannot bear war and unrest, as such conditions fundamentally hinder economic development, peace, and prosperity. Pakistan’s priority, he said, is to ensure that dialogue and diplomacy prevail in the region.
