Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts widespread dust storms, strong winds, rain and thunderstorms across large parts of the country from June 11-13. A western weather system is expected to enter upper regions of Pakistan on June 11 and remain active until June 13. Moist winds from Arabian Sea are likely to penetrate central parts of the country.

Under this weather system influence, intermittent dust storms, gusty winds, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms may also occur.

Rain and thunderstorms forecast for northeastern Balochistan while upper Sindh is expected to experience dust storms and strong winds during the period. Met Office warns of potential damage to structures due to strong winds, hailstorms and lightning.

Heavy rainfall in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Faisalabad may trigger urban flooding. Northern regions including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are at risk of landslides due to heavy rainfall in mountainous terrain. PMD advises farmers to protect crops while tourists and travellers urged to avoid unnecessary journeys and stay updated on weather conditions.
