Pakistan Launches National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, Replaces FIA Wing

Pakistan has officially established the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), replacing the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing, in a major move to strengthen digital law enforcement.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the newly formed NCCIA has been granted full authority to prevent, investigate, and act on cybercrime cases nationwide. This structural change aims to enhance Pakistan’s response to the growing challenges of online threats and criminal activities.

The agency’s scope includes tackling online fraud, digital harassment, identity theft, blackmail, fake websites, and social media-related crimes.

With this transition, the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing has been completely dissolved, and all cyber-related complaints will now be handled solely by the NCCIA.

Citizens are advised to contact the NCCIA for any cybercrime issues via their helpline: 051-9106691 or email: [email protected]. Walk-in assistance is also available at NCCIA’s circle offices.

The public is reminded that FIA is no longer responsible for handling cybercrime matters. The government says the move is part of a broader strategy to modernise and streamline digital security efforts in the country.
