In Islamabad, Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar addressed recent claims in Afghanistan regarding Pakistani operations. He emphasized that Pakistan’s strikes against militant hideouts within the country were conducted with precision based on intelligence, ensuring no civilian casualties occurred. Speaking to Arab News, Tarar declared that such false reports from Afghan Taliban spokespersons and United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) are propaganda designed to mislead public perception.

Tarar dismissed claims of Afghan civilians being killed by Pakistan’s forces, asserting that UNAMK exclusively relies on information provided by the Taliban government. He underscored joint attacks involving both the Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan as evidence corroborating a nexus between the two groups operating from Afghan soil. Tarar also revealed statistics: 527 Taliban fighters had been killed in operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, which he claimed were not exaggerated but genuine findings.

Furthermore, Ataullah Tarar highlighted that all attacks by the Afghan Taliban regime against Pakistan’s interests were met with prompt and effective responses. He clarified that Pakistan’s military actions were aimed at striking terrorists and their facilitators, specifically targeting terrorist bases in Afghanistan as well.

Overall, Tarar’s statements underscored Pakistan’s commitment to targeting militant infrastructure without compromising civilian safety, while firmly rejecting any misinformation or propaganda attempts by Afghan Taliban proxies.
