Pakistan slaps New Tax Rates on International Air Tickets Effective from July 1

From July 1, economy class travelers on international flights will need to pay an additional tax of Rs. 12,500, following the National Assembly’s approval of the 2024-25 budget, which includes an increase in taxes on airline tickets.

For flights to the United States and Canada, business and club class tickets will incur an extra tax of Rs. 100,000 starting July 1. Similarly, business and club class tickets to Europe will see an additional tax of Rs. 60,000. Overall, for flights to Europe, travelers in business, first, and club class will face a total tax of Rs. 210,000.

Travelers flying to New Zealand and Australia will also experience an additional tax of Rs. 60,000 on business and club class tickets. For flights to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and African countries, the tax on business and club class tickets will increase by Rs. 30,000.
