The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs7.45 per litre, raising it from Rs258.16 to Rs265.61, in response to rising international market trends.

The Finance Division officially announced the new prices, which were calculated by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) based on global price fluctuations.

According to the notification, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also gone up by Rs9.56, now costing Rs277.45 per litre. These new fuel prices will take effect from July 1.

“The prices of petroleum products have seen an increasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight,” the official notification stated.

This adjustment marks the first change in fuel prices since the federal budget for fiscal year 2024-25 was announced on June 12.

The Finance Division noted that there will be no changes to applicable taxes and duties, which will remain at their current levels as specified in the FY25 budget.
