PIA Flight Lands Safely in Karachi After Fujerah Snag

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on Tuesday night that its flight PK178 from Fujerah, UAE, to Lahore had landed safely in Karachi due to a cabin pressure-related issue. The post stated, “During the flight, it developed a cabin pressure-related snag, and as per procedure, it reduced altitude to 10,000 feet.”

The airline’s team of engineers is working diligently to rectify the fault, with plans to resume the flight to Lahore soon. This incident comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following US and Israel’s attacks on Iran since February 28, which have led to widespread flight cancellations globally.

The conflict has caused significant disruption in the aviation industry, leading to the closure of key hubs like Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, affecting tens of thousands of passengers. The surge in airfares due to soaring jet fuel prices, now between $150 and $200 per barrel, has further exacerbated the situation for airlines worldwide.
