DG Rangers Sindh presides over security meeting

Director General Rangers (Sindh) Major General Azhar Waqas presided over a high-level meeting on security at the headquarters Pakistan Rangers (Sindh).

The meeting was attended by Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind, DIG CTD, DIGs (Special Branch, East, South, West, CIA and Traffic), police, Rangers and senior officers of law enforcement agencies.

A detailed review of the law-and-order situation in Karachi city, prevention of street crimes, snatching and other crimes and security, especially for new year celebrations, was discussed. In the meeting, instructions were issued to intensify the security in the metropolis and the joint operation of Rangers and police against hardened criminals by law enforcement agencies and to further tighten the checking process at the entry and exits of the city.

During the meeting, rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies planed a joint strategy for the security on the eve of New Year celebrations. In the light of the orders issued by the government, it was decided to impose ban on pillion riding, including display of weapons, aerial firing, and strict action against those who violate the law on New Year’s Eve.
