PlayStation Plus May 2026 Free Games Spark Controversy Before Launch

PlayStation Plus free games for May 2026 have sparked controversy before their launch. Major games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, added six months ago, are reportedly set to be removed in May.

Fans of Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Insurgency: Sandstorm remain uncertain about the removal status of these titles. Other games added a year ago, including Battlefield V and SAND LAND, are also likely to leave the service soon.

Older titles like Crime Boss: Rockay City and Cat Quest 1 & 2, which joined two years ago, have high chances of being removed. This has disappointed players amid rising subscription costs and expectations for more robust monthly offerings.

While Sony hasn’t confirmed the May lineup, rumored removals suggest it may be underwhelming unless new exciting games are introduced to offset the losses. PlayStation Plus games likely to be removed in May 2026 include GTA V, Red Dead Redemption, MotoGP 25, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Thank Goodness You’re Here!.
