PM Sharif Reaffirms Stronger Ties with Libya in Key Islamabad Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a high-level Libyan delegation in Islamabad, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. The meeting highlighted opportunities for closer cooperation and emphasized a broader commitment to promoting peace, stability, and development at both regional and international levels.

During the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were present, underscoring the importance attached by both sides. The Libyan delegation was led by Dr Osama Saad Hamad, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, alongside Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.

Both parties discussed matters of mutual interest and underscored the need to further strengthen bilateral relations. They acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role and expressed their willingness to expand collaboration across various sectors. The talks reinforced a shared intent to advance relations through dialogue and understanding, with both sides committing to maintaining close contact for future cooperation.
