PM Shehbaz Assures Trade Growth with EU Amid Challenges

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from the European Union on Tuesday. The group included Peteris Ustubs, Director (Asia Pacific) of the European Commission’s Directorate General of International Partnerships; Thourya Triki of the EU Investment Bank; and senior executives from Adidas, Andritz, IKEA, and other top European companies.

Shehbaz Sharif assured the delegation that Pakistan’s government is committed to facilitating trade and investment relations with the EU. He also highlighted his recent discussions with EU Council President Antonio Costa about regional security and strengthening Pakistan-EU ties.

The meeting took place in Islamabad as part of preparations for the EU-Pakistan Business Forum, an event aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the two regions. The forum is expected to host over 600 business-to-business meetings on its sidelines.
