PM Shehbaz returns to Islamabad after Qatar visit

ISLAMABAD – After concluding his visit to Qatar, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned to Islamabad on Wednesday. During his trip, he met with the Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who underlined his country’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Pakistan at a strategic level and committed to maintaining close coordination over critical regional matters.

In addition to Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and senior Qatari officials including the Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs participated in the discussions. The meeting also involved representatives from Qatar’s Businessmen Association who discussed opportunities for boosting trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar.

This diplomatic engagement underscores Sharif’s effort to strengthen economic ties with key regional partners as part of his ongoing bilateral initiatives, a focus that aligns with broader strategic objectives aimed at bolstering mutual economic benefits.
