PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows ‘Exemplary Action’ Against May 9th Perpetrators

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to hold accountable all those responsible for the violent actions on May 9th, ensuring such tragic incidents never repeat in the country.

Addressing the families of the martyrs at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to commemorate the first anniversary of the May 9th violence, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed solidarity and assured that the law would take its course to deliver justice.

He lamented the organized group of individuals who defiled the martyrs’ memorials on that day, emphasizing that those engaging in treasonous acts to divide the state’s institutions would face severe consequences.

The prime minister paid tribute to the martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifice in safeguarding the nation’s safety and integrity, pledging to uphold their memory forever. He emphasized the importance of exemplary punishment to deter future acts of violence and division.

Highlighting the unwavering dedication of Pakistan Army officers and jawans in facing national challenges, Prime Minister Shehbaz commended their efforts and stressed the need for other institutions to adopt similar support models for martyrs’ families.

Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, recounted the harrowing experiences during the riots, underscoring the brutality faced by law enforcement agencies. Family members of the martyrs shared heartfelt memories and expressed pride in their loved ones’ sacrifice for the nation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, along with cabinet members and politicians, joined the event to honor the martyrs and show solidarity with their families.
