Prime Video Greenlights God of War Adaptation with New Cast

Prime Video is set to premiere a captivating adaptation of the beloved video game God of War this year. The epic story, which revolves around Kratos and Atrues, a father-son duo deeply entrenched in their roles, will captivate audiences with its blend of action, adventure, and family drama.

The series has recently announced it has cast Callum Vinson as Atrues, the 10-year-old character who skillfully shoots arrows but grew up far from violence’s grasp. Atrues is described as a curious child eager to venture beyond his home in the forest. After losing his mother Faye and meeting his father Kratos (played by Ryan Hurst), Atrues strives for his father’s approval, leading him on a quest to prove himself.

Joining Callum Vinson’s role will be Max Parker as Heimdall, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok. The God of War also stars these talented actors.

Vinson’s journey in the industry includes a previous role on Peacock’s Long Bright River. He will now bring his unique charm to the series he’ll be starring in for the third time with Netflix’s The Night Agent.

The premiere date of this heart-wrenching and action-packed story is expected in 2027 or 2028, making it an eagerly awaited event for gaming enthusiasts and fans alike.
