Prince Harry to Visit U.K. Alone Next Week
A source close to Prince Harry has informed AFP that he will not be accompanied by his wife Meghan and their two children during his upcoming visit to London as part of a trip to the U.K. next week. This changes previous expectations for his first family trip back to the U.K. in four years.
The exact arrangements for the rest of the trip remain under consideration, leaving it unclear whether the entire family will visit but stay outside the capital city. Harry is set to mark the one-year countdown toward next year’s Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014 for wounded veterans and will take place from July 10 to 17, 2027.
Harry and his family were currently in Europe and hoped to make a trip to the U.K., but security concerns have led Harry to proceed alone. A source close to the prince stated last month that they would stay at royal residences and be guests of King Charles III. Last year, Harry expressed safety concerns for his family during U.K. visits following a court case loss to regain full police protection.
Harry’s visit comes amid ongoing tensions with the British royal family, which escalated after he published his memoir “Spare” and faced legal battles in the U.K. It is unclear whether he will meet with King Charles III during his stay.
