Served in several welfare organizations in the UK and significantly contributed to community-based mental health initiatives.

Government of Pakistan awarded him Sitara-i-Imtiaz for national and international contributions.

Javed’s elder brother, Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, founder of Akhuwat, has also received Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz for social services.
