Federal Government Directs Provinces to Submit NAP Progress Reports by May 4

The federal government has directed all provinces to submit progress reports on the National Action Plan (NAP) implementation, following decisions taken at the Apex Committee. Officials have been given a deadline of May 4 to submit performance reports detailing progress on key action points under the counter-extremism framework.

Stakeholders are instructed to provide updated progress on assigned measures, with the Ministry of Planning tasked with central monitoring in the socio-political domain. A uniform reporting format has been issued for provinces and federal institutions to ensure standardized submissions, directed to be sent directly to the Apex Committee Secretariat.

Recommendations could be made for action against officials in cases of delayed or inadequate reporting. Detailed reports are sought on sensitive action points, including measures related to narrative building, coordination, and socio-political domain steps taken under assigned tasks.

The government has ordered data collection for a comprehensive review of NAP implementation presentation in an upcoming meeting. Updates have been requested on madrassa registration, mosque and seminary reforms, equitable distribution of resources, and development initiatives in underdeveloped areas. Authorities have also sought point-wise reports on steps taken to counter extremist and terrorist narratives, progress on assigned tasks, and monitoring of banned organizations’ activities.
