ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has renewed its demand that party founder Imran Khan be subjected to a medical examination in his presence and with the consent of his personal doctors. PTI leaders issued this statement on Saturday, emphasizing that any unilaterally conducted health assessments contravene both basic human rights and prison regulations.

“The confidentiality regarding the health of our party leader must not be allowed,” stated the PTI officials. “We demand that medical examination take place at recommended hospitals by our party, ensuring full transparency in his healthcare.”

Earlier reports indicated a government-formed panel intended to conduct an independent medical evaluation of Imran Khan. Sources confirmed this panel comprises Dr Amjad and Dr Nadeem Qureshi. However, the PTI is expressing dissatisfaction with the exclusion of his personal physicians from the medical team.

PTI officials have also announced plans for transferring Imran Khan to a hospital based on recommendations from the medical board. They highlighted that additional measures will be taken to ensure the process remains transparent and respectful of his privacy. A special representative, likely someone closely related to PTI leadership, has been identified to oversee this critical transition.

The PTI’s stance underscores their commitment to safeguarding both Imran Khan’s health and the party’s principles, particularly given that any breach in his medical confidentiality could severely impact public trust and party operations.
