PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar Khan was detained during an election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan over alleged NOC-related issues. According to reports, Gilgit-Baltistan Police took him into custody at Hunza where he was campaigning ahead of the regional elections.

Junaid Akbar said authorities informed him that he did not possess the required no-objection certificate (NOC) and directed him to leave Gilgit. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan condemned the detention, calling it “pre-poll rigging” and criticising efforts to stop party leaders from participating in the election campaign.
