Punjab Approves First Skill City

Lahore – Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of Punjab’s first Skill City, aimed at providing youth with technical and vocational education tailored to industry needs. This initiative seeks to enhance employability among young people after they complete their matriculation.

The Technical and Vocational Education Board of Punjab will affiliate with institutions in Scotland and the UK. The Skill City will offer courses including Graphic Designing, Media Production, Fashion Designing, Data Coding, Tourism Expert training, Industrial Electrician, Plumbing, Solar Water Heating Systems, Professional Chef, and Allied Health Professional programs.

To ensure high-quality education, Sharif has instructed that top teachers be hired for technical education and industry experts assist in designing the syllabi to equip students with relevant skills for the workforce.
